Tips From Vera – Tomato Paste

A can of paste! Darlings, I know you have a can of tomato paste in your pantry. If not, go buy some! I for one absolutely detest tomatoes… I don’t know what it is exactly. Maybe I just don’t like my dishwater turning a really ugly rusty color. That, however, is not the point.

Stainless steel is the object of my rant today… Were you aware that tomato paste is one hell of a good cleaning agent? It is my friends! Seriously, a can of such fruit paste might just be your sinks best friend… I find that after a dinner that includes a heavy amount of this amazing wonder fruit will leave ones stainless sink the envy of all the neighbors. Tomato dissolves all the ugliness that might be accumulating in ones sink; not to mention the pots and pans. Why? They come out shinier than ever after a good scrub in a tomato laced bath of dish water!

I suggest this tip to anyone who has found their sink or prep area less than sparkling. A can of paste is all you require. Mix with a generous amount of Kosher salt for added scouring muscle and watch that steel gleam like diamonds in the sky! Happy homemaking!

As always,

– Vera
