Some duos in sports transcend the actual games and go into the real world. These athletes and coaches have all made names for themselves on the field, but they also have great relationships outside the game. These are the 8 best bromances in sports.
1. Eric Decker and Demaryius Thomas
A lot of wide receivers in the NFL are selfish, egotistical guys. It’s a position that’s all about “me”. Not with these two guys, though. The Denver Broncos’ wide receiver duo are best of friends and like to refer to themselves as ‘Black and Decker’. I think they should be required to be friends forever just based on the amazingness of that nickname alone.
2. Dwyane Wade and LeBron James
LeBron and D-Wade have great chemistry on the court. They’re known for making some ridiculous full-court, alley-oop connections even. But LeBron didn’t just choose to go to Miami to play with Wade. The two have developed a great bromance over the years. Sure it’s great to watch two amazing players be rivals and go at it. But it’s also really fun to watch two of the best team up and just have a good time with each other on and off the court.
3. Brandon Marshall and Jay Cutler
Are there two guys in sports who give less of a fuck about what people think than these two? I highly doubt it. Smokin’ Jay and Brandon Marshall win the award for the duo I’d most like to hang out with. It just seems like the most chill bromance on the list. I imagine they cuddle up and watch movies together, feeding each other gummy bears quite frequently.
4. Gregg Popovich and Tim Duncan
The first player/coach bromance on the list belongs to Tim Duncan and Pop. While the NBA is filled with a bunch of flashy and outgoing stars; these two just keep on being great and flying under the radar. Their almost boring level of calmness has let these two be great together for a long, long time.
5. Patrick Willis and NaVorro Bowman
Willis and Bowman are two of the best linebackers in all of football, and they just so happen to play right next to each other. While on the field they create an incredibly feared and intimidating duo, off the field they are like family. So much, in fact, that Bowman even asked Willis to be the godfather of his twins. This takes the word bromance to an entirely new level.
6. Adrian Beltre and Elvis Andrus
Adrian Beltre and Elvis Andrus play right next to each other on the baseball diamond. This gives Andrus the perfect opportunity to consistently mess with Beltre in a variety ways. See, apparently Beltre doesn’t like getting his head touched. So what does Andrus do? Well, he sneaks up Adrian and rubs head, obviously. Elvis even takes his joking around to in-game scenarios. If Beltre is fielding a fly ball, you might just catch Andrus running up super close to him to try and mess with his concentration. While the coaches probably aren’t a huge fan of this, it’s absolutely hilarious for us fans.
7. Tom Brady and Bill Belichick
From the start of the Patriots dynasty until now a lot has changed with the team. Almost none of the same players are still there that were there at the beginning. That’s of course with the exception of Tom Brady and Bill Belichick. The two have created an absolute powerhouse in the NFL for over a decade. And while so many people hate on both of these guys for not being very ‘welcoming’, they appear to have a great relationship with each other. I imagine they just bathe in the tears of their detractors while spooning each other.
8. Jeremy Lin and Chandler Parsons
If you watch any Houston Rockets games, then you’ve more than likely seen a long and almost creepy stare between these two. Just look at Chanlder’s eyes in this picture. Those are sexy eyes. Clearly trying to look hot for his bromance partner. A lot of the guys on this list are really great friends. But these two may actually be in love with each other. I wouldn’t be surprised if they announced they were an actual couple to be honest.
